Playing the Game

Categories: Colonization 102, About Sims3
So I am 50 sim weeks in to my experimental hood, Colonization 102. It has appr. 190 sims, + service NPC:s. With the help of Awesome Mod and Twallans mods, the gameplay is smooth and flowing, almost all the time. My playstyle is much more relaxed than in Sims2, where I played on a strict rotation schedule. Now, I more "jump around" and play the families that need me or the ones I find interesting at the moment. The aim with Colonization 102 is to learn as much as possible about the game, and the possibilities of it, as well as limitations. This hood is set in a future sim space colony, on a planet far away, but very similar to sim earth.

The fifth generation of the first sims is now being born. Every sim that turns out interesting is saved for further use in the big project: a sims3 Windle, the historical sim hood where we can follow the sims from the oldest times.
To start that I need MUCH more custom content, but I can already see the possibilities.

I have started to build some houses for an early Windle.. and I am playing around with clothing. In the coming weeks I will show you some of the results.

The promise of a sims 3 Windle one day makes me happy! But I also love this sci-fi colony idea. I'm also trying to make a special hood, so I look forward to your clothing results.

I have been building on a first version of Older Windle, and its a lot of fun. I wish there was a conversion tool to convert some Sims2 sims into Sims3.. Of course Colonization 102 will live on also.

hm..im trying to work on a roman or egyptian style hood myself. seeing your windle helped me quite a bit, it had not occured to me to seperate out the parts by using the walled city model. once i did that (i used the gentral area near the graveyard in the same hood as your longhouse is) it actualy looked very roman. has occured to me to also section off other parts of the hood and make a temporal challange town (that is, it has villages from more than one era, seperated by the walls, all with their own shops ect) maybe some day, i will find a place where i can upload without having to pay to keep my files, or use torrents ect.and then i can have a special hood page too *grins*
