Gathering in the Village

Categories: Older Windle
Gathering at the Square
The central place in the village is the Square, the long narrow lot in the middle. I built a basement deep enough to hide the food store, and on that I placed some benches and a firepit. It has turned out to be a hit, villages flock there, especially to play or listen to guitar. There are also some chess tables and a small pond on the lot.

Where are you getting those lovely long skirts and beautiful medieval shirts for the ladies?

Here are some links: MTS - Creator Magnemoe: http://www.modthesims.info/member.php?u=14063 Also check these TSR-creators: NeptuneSuzy, Frisbud, Shakeshaft and Jutta Ponath - they all made different kind of long skirts. At least Frisbuds clothings are all free. Parsimonious made a fantastic version of the Goth Dress, just recently, check their last update.

Thanks for the links. I'm checking those out right now. I have a couple of other questions for you if you don't mind... I assume since you don't have any restaraunt rabbit holes that you have elimiated the possiblity of any cheese, egg, and meat plants as well as the omni plant. What about money trees? Flame fruit? Life fruit? Do you let them grow and harvest these? Also, cellphones; everyone's got one and it's not very medieval. lol Do you just pretend not to notice or...? If someone gets a handiness oprotunity to upgrade someone's sterio, do you just ignore it?

When I started the hood, I used the Debug Menu Cheat /with debug options enabled, click on sim and then /sim/farming and gave the founder sim 3 of each existing seed. He then planted them on a community lot (Awesome Mod enables planting on Community Lots) - could also be a residence lot, but then the plants need more care. Every farmer sim (and thats most of my sims, lol) go to this lot to harvest "seeds" to use at home. When they get to level 10 farming they can use the omniplant. As there are no such rabbitholes, they dont get those kind of opportunities. They do get the "grow so and so many veggies and deliver them" - opportunities. They can of course buy eggs ect in the produce store, which is hidden under the square. - No stereos in Windle! People dance to other sims playing the guitar. - Cell Phones.. well they can use them, not so much to do about them. As with the laptops in the monastery, just pretend that they are.. hmm. smoke signals? telepathic messages? or something ;)

I'm just starting up my kingdom. Do you have any rabbithole buildings like science, town hall etc? If not, how do your sims make money? And if so, how have you disguised them?

At this point, I only have a food store, hidden under the village square, and a graveyard. The sims make money from farming, fishing and mining. I built a rather big community lot with veggie fields, where I send the families to harvest, then they sell the harvest to the store and send all or a part of the money to the owner family with the help of Twallan's Supercomputer (which I placed hidden in the attic, they dont really need to use the computer as such - and I bought the cheapest comp for this. If you hid it like that they dont go play computer games either.) One day, when the process to make custom careers and have custom rabbit holes will be easier, I will add such.
